OWNER OF THE KEYSTONE PIPELINE SUE’S BIDEN ADMINISTRATION !
In a show of solidarity with environmental activists, President Joe Biden canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline on his first day in office this year, despite being the only Democrat candidate for president not to sign a declaration that he would veto the Trump administration’s permit for the pipeline.
That decision may now be coming back to bite the administration through the courts.
The pipeline project received a permit to proceed from then-President Donald Trump in 2017. TC Energy (formerly TransCanada), the owner of Keystone, invested $9 billion in the pipeline, which was designed to carry 830,000 barrels of crude oil from Canada to Montana to Gulf Coast refineries. The project weathered years of environmental reviews to obtain federal approval.
Biden summarily revoked the permit via Executive Order 13990 in a matter of hours. TC Energy was not afforded any type of hearing or opportunity to defend the project or appeal the decision.
Twenty-three states, led by Texas and Montana, are suing the administration over the cancelation. Earlier this month, TC Energy filed a notice of intent to take legal action against the government. The company is seeking $15 billion in taxpayer-funded damages.
On July 2, TC Energy filed its notice with the U.S. Department of State to begin a legacy North American Free Trade Association (NAFTA) claim. The U.S. “has never lost before a NAFTA arbitration panel,” the Wall Street Journal editorial board explained last week .
“But TC Energy … has a good case. To prevail, TC Energy will have to show that it had good reason in March 2020 to believe that its $9 billion investment was protected by the U.S. permit when it announced that it would ‘proceed with construction.'”
Senior Manhattan Institute Fellow Mark Mills, an expert in energy and technology, recently said he views the immediate cancelation of the pipeline as a costly “virtue signal action.” During a virtual fireside chat with Jason Kenney, the premier of Alberta, Canada, Mills pointed out that the cancelation will not lessen the amount of oil used by either country.
The oil “will be transported in an expensive way, costing money to your businesses and your tax base,” Mills said to Kenney.
Without a pipeline, the oil will be transported by rail and truck, producing “higher emissions, higher environmental impact, and higher risks,” he argued. According to Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, five of the six counties in the state that the pipeline would have traversed are designated “high poverty” areas.
Despite Biden’s concession to environmentalists on his first day in office, left-wing activists continue to stage demonstrations in an ongoing effort to disrupt the pipeline economy of the U.S. and Canada.

FEMALE JAIL GUARD ARRESTED & PROSECUTED FOR HAVING SEX W/ INMATE !
Tina Gonzalez, 26, will serve 210 days locked up, followed by two years of probation. For having sex with a male inmate .
The Fresno County Sheriff’s office began to investigate after staff members were told about a county jail inmate with a cell phone who also was said to be in a sexual relationship with the officer.
A search of the inmate’s cell turned up the phone, and Gonzalez quit the sheriff’s office after being interviewed by detectives.
Tina Gonzalez reportedly cut a hole in the pants of her uniform to make it easier to have sex while working as a Fresno Country corrections officer.
.Gonzalez began working at the county jail in 2016, the Bee reported. She was arrested in May 2020 following an investigation into her conduct.
According to a police report, the sheriff’s office received a tip that a correctional officer has been having sex with an inmate and that she had smuggled a cell phone into the county jail.
The investigation apparently revealed that alongside the phone, Gonzalez had also smuggled in razors, which could potentially have been used as weapons, according to the New York Post.
Gonzalez’s former boss, Assistant Sheriff Steve McComas, told the court that he had seen “pretty disgusting things” during his 26 years working on the job, however he had never been more surprised than when he learned of Gonzalez’s having sex in full view of other inmates.

Someone commented on this story , calling this women a b***h in heat . I , agree 100% and than some . And once again the judge goes soft on her because of her gender . If this was a man , like the old saying goes they’d bury them under the jail .

Joe Biden’s cognitive decline !
Former White House physician Ronny Jackson is calling on Democrats to give Joe Biden a cognitive exam as major concerns about his mental acuity continue to mount.
Rep. Jackson (R-TX), who served as the official doctor for President Donald Trump and Barack Obama, says Democrats must follow through with their own prior demands regarding a president’s cognitive ability and have Biden assessed.
One year into his presidency, Democrats demanded that President Trump undergo a mental aptitude test while suggesting he wasn’t fit enough to hold office.
Trump agreed to take a 30 point exam that tests for memory impairment – the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) .
“The far-left and the mainstream media were demanding that be the new standard for anybody who’s going to lead our country and be our Commander-in-Chief and our head of state,” Jackson said in an interview with Fox News .
“I’m just saying I agree with them at this point — we need to get it done.”
Democrats appear to be hiding deeper issues with Joe Biden’s mental fitness
Jackson, who administered the test for Trump, explained that the exam is not an IQ test, but rather a standard test for age-related issues, including dementia and cognitive decline.
The White House said last month that Biden is scheduled to take his physical exam “later this year” – which if done before next year would be completed sooner than his predecessor’s health exams.
Both Trump and Barack Obama took their exams at the start of their second year in the Oval Office.
But Jackson pointed out that the White House has not said if the cognitive exam will be included during Biden’s health screening.
The freshman Texas Republican argued that Trump set a new precedent regarding a president’s mental assessment – a sentiment at one point shared by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
In October 2020, Pelosi introduced a bill that would create a bipartisan commission of health advisors to evaluate the ability of a president to serve in the highest office in the U.S.
“This legislation applies to future presidents, but we are reminded of the necessity of action by the health of the current president,” she told reporters last year.
“It’s not about any of us making a judgment about the president’s well-being.”
Republicans have voiced their shared concerns when it comes to Biden.
“I think he’s demonstrating every single day that there is something going on,” Jackson told Fox News.
He added: “You don’t need to be a physician to look at this behavior and see there’s something concerning happening.”

Jackson pointed to an increase in instances where Biden appears “confused.”
“You can go back – there’s forty years of tape of this man – he’s always made gaffes and stuff but these are different, he’s confused, he’s disoriented,” the Texas congressman continued.
“We all know people who are 100-years old, who basically are as sharp as a tack, and we know people who are in their mid-60’s that having some cognitive difficulties…and I think he’s on that end of the spectrum.
“He’s just not aging gracefully at this point,” Jackson added.
“I’m just asking them, when you do the physical exam, include the cognitive assessment,” he said.
“As far as I’m concerned the standard precedent has been set and they need to follow and do the same.”
MY OPINION : Yes , I agree there is something wrong with Joe Biden . Confused, all the stuttering ,all the gaffes , he’s more and more forgetful . Even democrats have noticed .Like Julian Castro , Cory Booker and Joe Scarborough . Making comments about his cognitive decline . Obviously this was before he won the democratic nomination . And the field was wide open. But once he won they all circled the wagons and started to act like he was superman . And he could do no wrong . NYC Mayoral Election Mess !
The whole world got a chance to see on Tuesday what New York City residents already knew: The city’s Board of Elections is dysfunctional.
New York state’s Constitution requires local election authorities to be run by political appointees from both major political parties.
That means that the county-level Democratic and Republican parties in each county in the state appoint an equal number of people to lead ― and manage ― local election authorities.
Virtually every other state in the country has independent, nonpartisan technocrats run their elections.
The result, in New York state in general, and New York City in particular, has been chronic mismanagement and a series of embarrassing scandals that culminated in Tuesday’s revelation of incorrect results. The NYC Board of Elections accidentally published preliminary ranked-choice voting results for the Democratic mayoral primary that included 135,000 test ballots, rescinded them, and posted new ones on Wednesday.
“There’s a fundamental problem having partisan boards of elections,” said Jerry Goldfeder, a Democratic elections attorney. “An independent, professional operation would serve the people of New York much better.”
The Board of Elections’ errors and political shenanigans are nothing new.
In 2012, for example, the board botched the results of an upper Manhattan congressional primary by initially omitting votes in precincts more favorable to the ultimate winner, Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D). And ahead of the 2016 presidential primary, the board admitted to illegally purging some 200,000 registered Democrats from the voter rolls ― a sin it promised to remedy, but never fully explained.
And due to lack of preparation for the unprecedented influx of mail-in ballots, the board disqualified more than 84,000 mail-in ballots in the June 2020 Democratic presidential and congressional primaries on technical grounds like the lack of a postmark from the post office.
There is wide agreement that the lack of a premium on technical expertise, and reliance instead on well-connected party officials’ friends and family members to fill key roles is to blame for the disfunction. Staffers at the NYC Board of Elections routinely clock in and leave for the gym, smoke marijuana on the job or use their working hours to watch Netflix, according to a New York Times investigation in October. Patronage extends into the ranks of computer programmers, where Ruben Díaz III, the son of Bronx Borough President Ruben Díaz Jr., holds a job.
Mike Ryan, the current executive director of the board, went on medical leave months ago. He entrusted the agency’s management to Dawn Sandow, a Bronx Republican appointee, who lacks experience overseeing elections, and who was called a “disaster” as interim leader by a source in the New York Post.
The stakes are especially high this year. The June mayoral primary was New York City’s first major election to employ ranked-choice voting, making it the country’s largest laboratory for the instant-runoff method favored by reformers.
And the national Republican Party is more eager than ever to bolster claims of election fraud ― and undermine federal efforts to protect voting rights.
Already, Republican skeptics are seizing on Tuesday’s chaos as evidence that their concerns about election integrity, fueled by former President Donald Trump’s evidence-free insistence that he won reelection, are well founded.
Tommy Pigott, a spokesman for the Republican National Committee, called New York City’s elections a “preview” of what Democratic voting reform bill H.R. 1 would do to the country’s elections. H.R. 1 would, among other things, strengthen federal oversight of state governments that seek to curtail voting rights with the stated aim of ensuring greater election integrity.
“New York shows we should be enacting measures that improve election integrity, not tearing them down,” Pigott wrote in an email blast to reporters.

Proponents of ranked-choice voting are worried that the mistake will reflect poorly on a system that had nothing to do with the delay in vote counting, let alone the board’s error.
Rob Richie, president of FairVote, which promotes ranked-choice voting (RCV), conceded that it “is a challenge when things are associated with an RCV election.”
What’s more, in August 2020, New York state expanded absentee ballot access by allowing ballots sent out by Election Day to remain eligible so long as they arrive at local election authorities within a week after the election. At the same time, state law still bars localities from counting absentee ballots until after Election Day, rather than as they come in, saddling the system with extra delays.
Even without the error, Richie contends that the Board of Elections’ as-yet-unexplained decision to release incomplete results, rather than waiting to release comprehensive results, was the “worst of both worlds.” The move, he said, ensured that results would neither be available speedily, nor clarify the final outcome when they did arrive.
The Board of Elections also did not respond to offers from the Ranked Choice Voting Resource Center, the nonprofit that developed the RCV software that the city is using, to tabulate the totals in a parallel process as an extra layer of quality control.
Richie praised the board’s willingness to engage nonprofits when designing the ranked-choice ballot, but said, “On other pieces of their operation, they were like a stone wall.”
Still, Richie expressed optimism that voters, more of whom turned out than in any NYC mayoral primary since 1989, would see through the mess. In its apology statement on Wednesday, the board itself made clear that “RCV was not the problem, rather a human error that could have been avoided.”
Critics of ranked-choice voting argue, though, that whether or not RCV is to blame ― and despite the fact that it functions seamlessly in places like Maine and San Francisco ― it might not be the right experiment for New York City, precisely because of the city’s notorious election board.
“When you compound that with other things like waiting a week for absentee ballots and the Board of Elections bureaucracy, you’re adding layers to a system and complicating it,” said Duncan Bryer, a former adviser to New York state Sen. Julia Salazar (D). “To maximize confidence in democracy, voting should be much simpler.”
New York City Councilman Daneek Miller, a Queens Democrat opposed to RCV and backing Eric Adams’ mayoral bid, wants to give voters another chance to stick with, or reject, the RCV system. He’s proposing a ballot referendum on the matter for this November.
“We want to do it now while it’s fresh in people’s mind and not in 2022,” he told CBS News.
Regardless of their views on RCV, reform-minded Democrats largely agree that amending the New York state Constitution to depoliticize boards of elections should be a top priority. Goldfeder even suggested as a temporary measure that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) use his executive powers to put the city’s board of elections under trusteeship and use that authority to overhaul the agency.
But Cuomo, who has already had more than a decade in power to solve New York’s election woes, does not seem particularly interested in reforms that would deprive him of his own power to distribute patronage jobs through the county parties.
Back in April 2020, Cuomo deferred to Democratic appointees on the state Board of Elections, which has an identical structure to the city board, on whether or not to cancel New York’s presidential primary.
Although Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) formally withdrew from the contest earlier that month, he and his supporters wanted the chance to amass enough national convention delegates to shape the party platform and nominating rules. The state board nonetheless canceled the presidential primary, only to have the election reinstated by federal judges in May 2020.
A spokesperson for the governor did not respond to a request for comment on whether the state should consider amending its Constitution to allow for technocratic voting agencies.
But Jay Jacobs, a Cuomo ally whom the governor tapped to chair the New York State Democratic Party in 2019, told HuffPost that the current organizational structure is ideal.
“Bipartisan boards are the best,” he said.
The state legislature’s two Democratic leaders, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, who have shown an increasing appetite for challenging Cuomo, both issued statements expressing concern about Tuesday’s error.
Stewart-Cousins criticized what took place in stronger terms, however, calling the mistake a “national embarrassment” that “must be dealt with promptly and properly.”
She vowed that the state Senate would hold hearings on the New York City Board of Elections’ flub.
State Sen. Zellnor Myrie (D), the progressive Brooklynite who, as elections committee chairman, would preside over those hearings, wrote on Twitter that he is open to a number of proposed reforms.
“Stay tuned for a hearing date and bring all the energy, concerns, and ideas for change to the table,” he said.

Two thirds of Olympic athletes agree protests should not be done during the Tokyo Olympics . Athletes that protest can be punished in many different ways .No specific punishments have been stated .But suspension , total ban ,or taking of metals could be some of the ideas on the table.
